Titans sign Hasselbeck

The Tennessee Titans have made a move to solidify the quarterback position by signing Matt Hasselbeck to a contract.

The veteran will take over for Vince Young and Kerry Collins, both of whom are no longer with the team.

The Titans released Young, tired of his childish antics, while Collins surprisingly opted to retire rather than fight for the starting job in 2011.

Hasselbeck gives the Titans a quarterback to lead them until rookie Jake Locker is ready to take over.

He will also give Locker a veteran quarterback to turn to and learn from over the next couple of years.
