Titans fire Cecil

The Tennessee Titans have fired defensive coordinator Chuck Cecil, who has struggled in taking over for Jim Schwartz.

Of course, you could also blame some of the defensive struggles on the loss of Albert Haynesworth.

It also doesn’t help when the offense takes a step back, forcing the defense to spend a lot more time on the field.

Also, with head coach Jeff Fisher returning after a disappointing season, someone needed to take the fall.

Cecil was as good of a pick as any, with his defense ranking among the league’s worst in yards allowed.
